ángela munguía (she/her/ella)

Executive Director

ángela munguía has a passion for social justice, racial equity and community development – specifically, for Black and Brown communities. The Pilsen native is the founding Executive Director of AMPT: Advancing Nonprofits, where she leads in redefining capacity building and ushering forward an antiracist framework for nonprofit management. Within her 4 year tenure, she has grown AMPT from a concept to a full robust team and programming that has supported hundreds of nonprofit organizations to date. Beyond AMPT, ángela served on the board of The Chicago Freedom School for 5 years and was Co-Chair of the board for 3 years. ángela loves travel, trying new restaurants and Chicago summers. She spends her personal time raising two free children, Hassan & Naima.

Ana Agarrat (she/her/hers)

Director of People & Programs

Ana Agarrat is motivated to support the financial sustainability and organizational capacity for nonprofit organizations focused on re-investing in communities for people of color. Her passion for the equitable and ethical distribution of resources drives her pursuit of grant opportunities and foundation relationships that fund community work. She serves as a programmatic leader, organizational ambassador and internal culture expert. As AMPT’s antiracism champion, Ana aims to ensure consistency and fidelity in the antiracist approach across the organization.

Ana enjoys listening to the stories of resilience and hope from the communities of people that she serves. She is also a fan of meeting with people in coffee shops, despite the fact that she has never had a hot cup of coffee, to discuss theories of the universe, human biology, and the intricate idiosyncrasies of human existence. Ana will continue using her creativity and candor to create the conditions where our communities are included in the ongoing social movements for justice and anti-racism.

Jazmin “Jaz” Ocampo (she/her/ella)

Learning & Development Manager

Jazmin’s name is pronounced "Yahsz-meen,” and she goes by jaz (pronounced as “yaz” or as it's spelled). She focuses on connecting with AMPT's nonprofit partners and program participants to learn how they experience AMPT's programs and resources. With this insight, jaz informs AMPT's evaluations processes and programmatic improvements to ensure that nonprofit partners experience quality programming, and get connected to resources that are tailored to their needs & goals so that they may operate to their fullest potential.

Born & raised in Chicago to Mexican immigrant parents, jaz has a deep commitment to social, economic, & racial justice for BIPOC communities. jaz continues to be driven by her background in community engagement and youth development, such as her previous work of having supported 200+ youth from Chicago's south and west sides in creating neighborhood-specific action projects that address systemic racial inequities through a trauma-informed lens. She values mobilizing others to embrace their holistic selves, learn from the resiliency of their ancestors, vocalize their own narratives, & take action towards more equitable and inclusive changes. jaz enjoys travel and adventure, loves her 50+ plants, and is a health and wellness enthusiast!

Jarrett “Bobo” (he/him/his)

Program Manager

Bringing over 8 years of experience to their role as a program manager at AMPT since August 2023, Bobo's journey began in the mailroom of a prestigious law firm within the iconic Sears Tower. What sets them apart is not just their professional trajectory, but the remarkable growth and passion that have accompanied their path.

Starting as a dedicated team member who showcased exceptional talent and unwavering commitment, Bobo’s evolution has been nothing short of inspiring. Their decision to transition from the corporate world to human and community-centered endeavors demonstrated a true calling for fostering meaningful change.

Over those years, Bobo honed their skills by collaborating with nonprofits and governmental bodies at various levels, from national to local. This journey bestowed upon them a wealth of expertise in leadership, community engagement, advocacy, program development, coaching,and youth development. Each experience contributing to a skill set that resonates with impactful leadership.

What truly defines him is not just their skill set, but their passion for creating a positive impact. Their journey is a testament to the power of empathy, emotional resilience and collaboration in inspiring greatness. This combination of traits, along with diverse skills and unwavering commitment, positions him as an asset in any and every role they undertake.

Diego Leon Roman (he/him/his)

Communications Manager

Diego Roman started at AMPT in September 2023. After graduating from NEIU in 2021, he decided to use his degree to serve his community with any position he filled. First at both East and West Leyden High School as the Communications Assistant he told the stories of the mainly Latine students, emphasizing marginalized groups doing extraordinary things. He then went on to serve at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, telling stories, creating campaigns, and making statements to serve Black and Latine members of the LGBTQ+ Community in Chicago. Now he hopes to continue serving people of color in Chicago with AMPT and create a truly anti-racist community.

Diego loves movies, comic books, baking sweets and his two dachshunds Troy and Leydi. You can often find him writing, reading, or spending time with his partner. He currently runs a comic news page, “Roman Comics News”, in his spare time.

He believes in always being a better person than you were the day before, using any privilege you have to help those who aren’t as fortunate, and nothing is more important than family.

Estelle Lozano (she/her/hers)

Director of Learning & Development

Estelle Lozano is a Chicago native rooted in social equity and community sustainability. As a Posse scholar from DePauw University, she pursued a career in corporate strategy that spanned a decade, serving public and private entities from Starbucks to The Italian Trade Agency. 

Since leaving the private sector, Estelle worked exclusively with grassroot organizations, creating sustainable funding practices and fostering strategic partnerships. With a decade-long corporate career coupled with her nonprofit experience, Estelle brings AMPT a versatile and solutions-oriented approach, engaging diverse communities and stakeholders at federal, state, and local levels to advance economic, gender, race equity.

Teresa Arroyo (she/her/hers)

Office Manager

Teresa Arroyo, a proud native of Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood, has a deep connection to her hometown. Growing up in a family of Puerto Rican descent, she was immersed in community engagement and social justice efforts, especially focused on youth development and bilingual education. Her parents, from an early age, fostered her love for reading and curiosity about diverse cultures, alongside teaching her the values of perseverance and hard work.

When Teresa's not busy with social justice work, she dives into a mix of things she loves. Exploring new places tops her list, alongside getting her hands dirty in the garden, nurturing plants as they grow. Family movie nights and cooking together bring her joy, while swimming and boating by the lake help her unwind. And when she wants to relax, there's nothing like snuggling up with a good book and her miniature poodle, Buddy.
