For Dr. Ravi Hansra, consulting started as a side gig to maintain a connection to her community. After her career as a high school English teacher, Dr. Ravi transitioned to the university space to work with teachers and reach more students. As she propelled through different leadership positions and worked to advocate for change, she found herself, a woman of color, in the C-suite without the ability to achieve her full mission. Dr. Hansra decided that the communities of color she was seeking to serve deserved better and started Hansra Consulting & Advisory Services. She connected with AMPT after a colleague’s recommendation and found that her mission aligned with the organization.
“AMPT has carefully and deliberately built a network of culturally sensitive consultants that have a wide variety of backgrounds and can create a network of support for our nonprofit partners. It’s awesome how it has put together this responsible list of people who know how to do the work and understand the nonprofits that they’re seeking to serve,” Dr. Ravi says.
While working with AMPT, Dr. Ravi has been able to increase her footprint of outcome and impact by connecting with nonprofit organizations that weren’t on her radar. During a recent coaching session, she met a team member leading the strategy of a local nonprofit. Dr. Ravi connected with the organization’s mission and purpose in order to identify its needs and help it move to the next level.
“What’s even more exciting is AMPT’s thoughtfulness in creating space for grant opportunities and giving nonprofits both the tools and the resources to succeed. It’s a powerful model and an important part of AMPT’s mission,” she adds.
